Dr. Erroll Southers spoke with NBC Los Angeles about the USC Safe Communities Institute summit on violent extremism. Dr. Southers said:
“We want to bring people together from all over the world to talk about extremist violence based on three different streams of thought – based on race, based on religion and based on issue orientation. What we want to do is make people more educated, more aware and talk about next steps with regard to policies and processes to reduce the risk of radicalization.”
The one-day program, “Global Solutions in the Age of Homegrown Violent Extremism,” takes place at USC on November 14. The program is available for live-stream online.
